Vintage Purple

How do I add a soft, pinky-purple, vintage tint to a photo in Photoshop CS3?

i know how to make the photo look more harshly vintage with more red, green, and yellow tones, but i can’t figure out how to make it really soft. i’ve been trying to use gradients, but it just washes out the photo and doesn’t keep it crisp like the ones shown below:

♦ Layer > New Adjustment Layer > Photo Filter
♦ In the dialog box, choose the Color radio button and pick your color
♦ Increase the density as desired
