Most of the design software has free downloads, so you can try before you buy. Some of the functions may not work but at least you can see if the programs might work for you.
http://www.easygrapher.com/EGH5.htm I went with this software for designing samplers. I found the others did not have as many specialty stitches that I liked. NOT CHEAP though. I’ve enjoyed it throughly though and used it many times. Customer Service was excellent.
