In harvest moon: tree of tranquility, how can i get the first half of the quilt?

Please help, the mayor has already come to my house once and told me about the quilt but that was a few seasons ago and nothing else to do with it has happened, i need to know what i need to do now before he will give me the first half of the quilt. Any help given is great and ill provide points to the best and most helpful answer!!

- Hamilton will come to your house and then take you to his house to
tell you the story of the island
– After you ship about 1,000 G/Mayor comes to your door at 6am
- Hamilton will return a few days later, take you to his house, and give
you the 1st half of the Goddess Tree Quilt
– After you ship some more
- Go talk to Gill – he knows about quilt but won’t tell you about it yet
– Upgrade your house to level 2
- Talk to Gill again – he tells you that the sprites took the other half and
hid it
- Go talk to Dale & learn more about the clock tower in the town square
- Talk to Hamilton in his house, agree to fix the clock (gives you key)
– Hamilton is in his house around 4:30pm or in the morning
– You can use the tracker to track when he goes in his house
- Go to the clock tower and use the key (key in hand, face front, press A)
to get the 2nd half of the quilt and Alan’s Memo
