My clothes are coming out dusty from my Kenmore top load washer. What can do to prevent this?

I’ve tried cleaning my washer with vinegar and I’ve switched to liquid detergent. My whites don’t get cleaned properly, and my linen and dark clothes comes out more dusty then they were going in. I’m renting a basement apartment and the washer and dryer has been provided by my landlord. My clothes are getting ruined and I don’t know what to do about it other than hand washing my delicate clothing. Please help!

I thought when you switched to liquid detergent that your problem would quit. I wonder if something is coming in throught the water lines into the washer. like iron in the water or hard water.i would be nice and polite and bring this up to my landlord. maybe he has dealt with it in the pas.t
