How do you remove wax from linen without damage?

I had a b/day party last night & a couple of black birthday candles melted wax on the tablecloth. Is there a good remedy to remove the wax from the table cloth without damaging it? It was a very expensive piece of linen passed down from a generation.
Freezing the wax doesn’t work very well. The wax is fixated on the linen.

I would try to freeze it and break as much off as you can like they said. Then, to remove the rest, place a piece of paper (paper grocery bag, loose leaf, computer paper, any paper) over the remaining wax and go over it with a warm iron. Move the paper to a clean section and repeat until all the wax is absorbed into the paper. If a stain remains, use a stain fighter like SHOUT! on it if it’s colored linen. If it’s white, Clorox Clean-Up works great. Just make sure you put it in the wash right away with other whites only. It’s not made for laundry, but makes a great white clothes stain remover. Long ago I was using it to clean my counters and got some on my blue shirt. It removed all the color from that spot. Good luck!
