Powell Craft Ladies Nightdresses – How To Select The Perfect Design For You
Powell Craft ladies nightdresses are known for being well designed and made from the finest materials. Most of the nightdress designs are based on Victorian nightdresses and each one is made by hand.
While all of the Powell Craft nightdresses are made from 100% cotton some of them are made out of lighter cotton than others so they are more suitable for warmer temperatures. Some nightdresses have long sleeves, some have short sleeves and some are sleeveless with thin straps so which style you choose will depend on the time of year.
Most of the designs come in one size only but some have ties at the back or the sides to enable you to adjust the size to fit. If you prefer something more fitted you could choose one of these designs, such as the Alice, a lace-edged sleeveless nightdress with ribbon ties at the side. Or the Maria nightdress, with strap sleeves and a tie under the bust.
Some of the Powell Craft nightdresses are more free-fitting, such as the Vivienne, a long sleeved percale cotton nightdress with a collar and a v-neckline finishing with large mother-of-pearl buttons down the centre, pin tucking on the chest and embroidered sleeves. Or the Prudence full-length nightdress with short sleeves; or the Valentina, a floaty oversized nightrdess with batwing style sleeves.
Some of the designs are full length and some are mid-length, such as the Maria, the Camilla, and the Nora, which is a white cotton sleeveless nightdress with a ribbon tie, rose embroidery and pearl seeding around the round neckline. The hem of the nightdress is ruffled with a ribbon trim.
Some designs feature intricate embroidery and ribbon details on them such as the Joanna with pale pink embroidered roses and pink ribbon detail, the Judy sleeveless nightdress with lilac flower embroidery and lilac ribbon detail, and the Rachael with seed pearl embroidered detail and button fastening.
Most of the nightdresses are plain white cotton but there are some with patterns on them, such as the vintage-looking Tiffany nightdress. This is a sleeveless nightdress with a frill around the neckline and a vintage-inspired floral pattern of pink roses on white.
