Do YOU care about black on black violence in the US? Why or why not?

I ask this question because of a few folks who posted answers this AM to another question stating that no one cares about black on black violence. I disagree. I care because it is rotting the fabric of their society.

YES, I care. Having witnessed it is scary enough.
It shows the levels of desperation and/or conditioning
people have been exposed to. I care about any patterns of violence (including spousal, child and animal abuse) as they span all aspects of society & have a way of creating a decay that eats a societal structure from the inside out.

It encourages stereotyping, promotes fear and hopelessness, and thereby stifles opportunity. What I find equally damaging, however, is the attitude of people that the US OWES them and they should just kick back and receive rather than trying to find a niche where they can change their lives OR protesting the fact that they cannot instead of taking it out on each other and on society. Again, the attitude causes more problems and masks the real ones.

This shows that violence/abuse to the least of those in domestic situations results in a deterioration of the entire society and thereby nation.
