Crochet Table

Crocheting help!! 1ss into each of 5 dc and into 5 dc loop. 6 ch, into same loop work (1 trip tr and 1 ch) 6?

I’m crocheting a circular coffee table mat and am having trouble with this step. 1 ss into each of next 5 dc and into 5 dc loop. 6 ch, into same loop work (1 trip tr and 1 ch) 6 times, * into next 5 ch loop work (1 trip tr and 1 ch) 7 times; repeat from * ending with 1 ss into 5th of the 6 ch. (8 fans)

I assume that the first 5 slip stitches go into the double chain space(in between the double stitches, so after the 5th slip stitch you make the slip stitch in the loop(which is the space that forms like knot at the top of the double chain..
