How much should an average one-year-old child be eating?

I feel that a young child (1.5 yrs old) that I know is being forced to eat too much. I can’t prove a case against the parents without some solid numbers involving appropriate food intake volume and weight for the child. Any suggestions or sources for this sort of information?

Every child is different. It is pretty hard to force feed a young child. Usually, they would just refuse to eat what is given to them. ( Are the parents holding him down and stuffing his mouth?) He might be too heavy because he is getting the WRONG types of food. (high calorie junk food) Maybe the parents need help with food choices, not amounts?
