What if we all created a new town?
In this town
…there would be not taxes as everything would be volunteer
…there would be no chairs in this town so no one could sit down
…a new voucher system would be given out based on volunteer hours
…there would be a barn raising to build a hospital, schools and housing for everyone
…people could be banished for crimes and laziness
…life would be different and maybe better
What do you think?
If it became animal farm or a hippy commune, you could just leave. That is the beauty.
Without an objective measurement of laziness people would judge each other by appearances and general likes and dislikes. Money acts as non-subjective basis to judge the quality of production, which would be absent in the “town.” Is it lazy to write a novel? Is it lazy to sing a song? Without money people would judge by the mundane appearance of work, which means by physical labor. Your town would quickly banish everyone who thinks for living. Life would be different because it would focused on the bare necessities of life and more than likely not actually achieving the production of those needs.
